The Ørteren rest area is located on National Road 7 in in Buskerud county, about two kilometres further west from the nearest rest area of Vardestopp.

The rest areas of Ørteren and Vardestopp have been designed according to the same principles.

If you follow the path down to the water, you can find peace and quiet, at a comfortable distance from the noise and traffic on the main road. The undulating, open landscape with small and large lakes and mountains creates a unique atmosphere.

Ørteren has six parking spaces and several places to sit along the edge, on the benches and at two tables. Here you can take a break and enjoy the beauty of Hardangervidda.
